If you’ve never attended a cookie class before, the thought can be daunting! Usually you either want a fun morning out , keen to try something new, OR you’re looking at doing a class to learn a new skill and maybe earn money from it further down the line.
Either way , we have you covered !
Do you have to be artistic and creative ?
Not at all. When you book a class all the hard work is done for you. You will get a kit with pre-baked cookies, pre-made icing , notes with recipes and instructions , tips and tricks etc. You will be taught how to put a set together , what works and doesn’t work .
What happens in a class ?
When you arrive , you’re welcome to help yourself to tea/ coffee.
We then do a demo showing how to make the icing , how to add colour, and how to mix to the different consistencies.
After that, we take you step-by-step through the decorating process and how to outline and flood a cookie.
Each course will focus on 2-3 icing techniques, from stenciling, wet-on-wet, air-brushing , piping with various nozzles to name a few .
You are taught the skills you’ll need , in class , so previous baking or icing experience is not needed. You do not have to be artistic as icing is a skill you can learn , like holding a pen or cutting with a pair of scissors.
We break half way though for refreshments then finish off the final details on the cookies. At the end of the class you leave with 6-8 cookies that you have iced , with skills to take with you.
